Ultra-wide zoom for Micro Four Thirds cameras covers a 14-28mm equivalent range with a constant f/4 aperture and includes a cleaning kit
The Panasonic Lumix G Vario 7-14mm f/4 ASPH lens covers a 14-28mm equivalent range on Micro Four Thirds cameras. Its constant f/4 aperture maintains consistent exposure across the zoom. Four ED and two aspherical elements plus multi-coating control aberrations and flare. A built-in petal hood further reduces stray light. The bundle adds a cleaning kit, blower, pen, cloth and pouch.
This lens replaces variable-aperture kit zooms that dim at the wide end and often lack edge-to-edge correction. The jump is worth it when you need a constant f/4 maximum aperture for interior or landscape work and want the optical formula that suppresses colour fringing. The fixed aperture also simplifies exposure when zooming during video recording.
The 14-28mm equivalent field of view comfortably fits architecture, vistas and tight interiors. Minimum aperture of f/22 provides depth-of-field headroom for bright conditions. The lens is not for photographers who need a longer telephoto reach or a wider maximum aperture such as f/2.8 for low-light event work. It also lacks optical image stabilisation, so steady hands or in-body stabilisation are required.

The lens has a built-in petal-shaped hood and a non-rotating front element, so it does not accept screw-in filters; a filter holder system is required instead.
Align the red mounting index on the lens barrel with the red dot on the camera mount, insert the bayonet, and turn clockwise until it clicks; the aperture ring stays at the A position for electronic control.
Use the included blower first to remove dust, then the microfiber cloth or cleaning pen for smudges; avoid liquids not made for coated optics.
