The Panasonic LUMIX G97 is a compact mirrorless camera paired with a 12-60mm f/3.5-5.6 lens. It uses a Micro Four Thirds sensor delivering 20.3 effective megapixels. The system targets enthusiasts who want interchangeable-lens flexibility in a lightweight body.

Suits travel and everyday photographers

This kit suits photographers who value a versatile zoom range and in-body stabilisation for handheld shooting. Buyers needing longer telephoto reach or a larger sensor format should consider other systems. The fixed lens aperture varies across the zoom range.

Straightforward setup with lens attached

The camera and lens arrive ready to mount; the Micro Four Thirds bayonet locks with a quarter turn. Menu navigation uses the free-angle 1,840k-dot touchscreen. First-time users sometimes overlook the Dual I.S. 2 mode selection for video stabilisation.

Questions about this item

Which Micro Four Thirds lenses can I use with the 12-60mm f/3.5-5.6 kit lens?

The camera accepts any Micro Four Thirds mount lens, so you can keep existing Panasonic or Olympus lenses and add new ones without an adapter.

Will my older Micro Four Thirds lenses still stabilise on the G97 body?

Yes, the body provides 5-axis Dual I. S. 2 and B. I. S. that work together with lens-based stabilisation on compatible older lenses.

How can I confirm 4K 30p video is recording without a time limit?

The free-angle 1,840k-dot LCD shows a live 4K preview and a red recording indicator that stays on until you press stop.
