Panasonic Lumix S 28-200mm f/4-7.1 Macro O.I.S. Lens (S-R28200)

Versatile L-Mount Zoom for Travel and Macro

The Panasonic Lumix S 28-200mm f/4-7.1 Macro O.I.S. covers a 28-200mm focal range in a single lens designed for L-mount cameras. It suits photographers who want wide-angle to telephoto reach without swapping optics on the move. The lens also delivers 0.5x macro magnification at a 0.14m minimum focusing distance for close-up detail work.

Straightforward Mounting with Filter Thread

The lens attaches via the standard Leica L bayonet and balances at roughly 1 lb with a 3.04-inch diameter, so it seats securely on compatible bodies without extra support. A 67mm front thread accepts common circular filters; vignetting can appear at the wide end with thick-stack filters, so slim rings are preferred. The 6.5-stop optical stabilisation engages automatically on supported bodies, reducing the need for high ISO in low light.

Check Body Compatibility and Stabilisation Mode

Verify that your L-mount camera body communicates aperture and autofocus data with third-party lenses; some older firmware revisions limit f-stop control or AF speed at the long end. Confirm whether in-body stabilisation coordinates with the lens O.I.S. for the rated 6.5-stop benefit or if a menu setting must be enabled. Ensure you have a 67mm filter or step-up ring if you plan to use existing glass.
