Lightweight Hybrid Camera for Photo and Video

The Panasonic Lumix S5 is a 24.2MP full-frame mirrorless camera bundled with a 20-60mm F3.5-5.6 lens. It targets enthusiasts and experts who want vibrant stills and cinematic 4K 60p 10-bit video in a compact body. The system delivers 14+ stops of dynamic range with V-Log/V-Gamut and a 96MP High Resolution mode for detailed output.

Check Lens Mount and Video Workflow Needs

Verify that your existing lenses use the L-Mount or that you are ready to adopt the system. The camera records 4K 60p 10-bit internally and offers FHD 180fps slow motion plus 4:3 anamorphic support. Ensure your editing setup handles 10-bit files and that your storage media supports the required write speeds for these formats.

Integrates Stabilisation and High-Resolution EVF

The body provides 5-axis Dual I.S. 2 enabling 6.5-stop slower shutter speeds, reducing the need for a tripod in many situations. A 2.36M-dot OLED viewfinder with 0.74x magnification aids precise framing. Live View Composite mode merges multiple exposures for fireworks or starry skies. Buyers needing built-in flash or a fully articulated screen should note these are not included.

Questions about this item

Does the kit include the 20-60mm F3.5-5.6 lens or must it be bought separately?

The kit ships with the LUMIX S 20-60mm F3.5-5.6 lens attached, so no separate lens purchase is required for this configuration.

Should I choose the 20-60mm kit or a body-only version for wider focal range?

The 20-60mm kit covers wide-angle to short telephoto in one lens; a body-only version would need a separate lens to match that range.

What does the 96MP High Resolution mode mean for a single still image?

The mode merges multiple exposures into one 96MP file, delivering far more detail than a standard 24.2MP shot.
