9.5-inch Swivel Screen

The Panasonic PD-9018 is a portable DVD player built around a 9.5-inch LCD that rotates 270 degrees and flips 180 degrees. It plays standard DVDs, CDs, CD-R and CD-RW discs and is region-free for worldwide discs. A built-in lithium-polymer battery provides up to five hours of playback. The unit measures 14.33 inches wide by 12.83 inches high by 9.06 inches deep.

Upgrade from Smaller Screens

Moving up from a seven-inch or smaller player adds a 800 by 480 resolution panel that is easier to view from the back seat. The jump is worth it when trips regularly exceed two hours and the larger screen reduces eye strain for children. USB and SD card slots accept up to 32 gigabytes of media files, removing the need to carry physical discs for every journey.

Family Travel and Car Use

This model suits families who want a dedicated, region-free player for long car journeys and occasional indoor use. The dual built-in speakers and 3.5-millimetre headphone jack cover both shared and private listening. Buyers who need Blu-ray playback, streaming apps or a larger display should look at a different product class.
