Laser 3LCD projector for large venues

The Panasonic PT-MZ782B is a WUXGA laser phosphor projector rated at 7500 lumens ISO brightness. Its 3-chip 0.76-inch LCD engine delivers a native 1920 x 1200 resolution and supports HDR content. The powered 1.7x zoom lens covers a throw ratio of 1.61 to 2.76:1 for flexible placement in meeting rooms and auditoriums.

Suits fixed installs needing lens shift.

Vertical lens shift of ±67% and horizontal shift of ±35% simplify alignment on ceiling mounts or rear-screen setups. Manual keystone correction handles vertical ±25° and horizontal ±30° offsets. The fixed lens and 19 kg-class chassis make it impractical for frequent relocation or temporary staging.

Throw ratio 1.61–2.76:1 decides fit

At the wide end a 150-inch image requires roughly 7.0 metres; at the tele end the same screen needs about 23.8 metres. The lens focal length spans 26.8 to 45.5 mm with an aperture range of f/1.7 to 2.3. Verify your room depth against these distances before purchase.

Questions about this item

How do I install the PT-MZ782B and which step is often missed?

Mount the projector using the ceiling-mount holes, connect sources to the three HDMI, VGA or RJ45 HDBaseT inputs, then use the powered zoom and focus with vertical lens shift up to ±67% and horizontal up to ±35% to centre the image; the step often missed is adjusting the powered lens shift before finalising focus.

What maintenance or replacement will the PT-MZ782B need later?

The laser phosphor light source and sealed 3-chip 0.76" LCD optical engine are maintenance-free for the product's rated life; only the external air filters require periodic cleaning depending on environment dust levels.

What limit appears first during sustained use of the PT-MZ782B?

Thermal protection activates if internal temperature exceeds the design threshold during continuous 7500-lumen operation, causing automatic brightness reduction or shutdown until the projector cools.
