Fully rugged 2-in-1 laptop

The Panasonic Toughbook 20 MK2 is a 10.1" fully rugged 2-in-1 laptop built to MIL-STD-810G, MIL-STD-461F and IP64 standards. It combines a detachable tablet with a keyboard base for field use. An Intel Core i5-7Y57 processor, 8GB DDR3L memory and a 256GB SSD run Windows 10 Pro.

Field workers needing LTE and barcode scanning

This unit suits mobile professionals who require 4G LTE multi-carrier connectivity, a 2D barcode reader and dual cameras with Windows Hello infrared support. Buyers who need a Windows 11 upgrade path should look elsewhere, as the operating system is not upgradeable.

Windows 10 Pro locked to current version

The single specification that decides fit is the Windows 10 Pro licence, which the supplier states is not upgradeable to Windows 11. Organisations with a mandatory Windows 11 roadmap cannot deploy this device long term.

Questions about this item

How do I attach the keyboard to the 24-pin docking connector without damaging the pins?

Align the tablet precisely with the keyboard base so the 24-pin docking connector engages straight; forcing it at an angle bends pins and breaks the connection.

Which user-replaceable parts will need attention after extended field use?

The 256GB SSD and the nano-SIM card are accessible; the 8GB DDR3L memory is soldered and cannot be upgraded.

At what point does the Core m5-6Y57 throttle during continuous workloads?

The processor runs at 1.1GHz base and boosts to 2.8GHz; sustained loads push it to the base clock once thermal limits are reached.
