Rugged laptop for field professionals

The Panasonic Toughbook CF-31 MK4 is a fully rugged notebook built to MIL-STD-810G standards for drops, vibration, rain, dust and extreme temperatures. It targets military, emergency services and industrial users who need a computer that survives harsh environments where standard hardware fails. The magnesium alloy chassis includes an integrated carry handle for mobility.

Sustained performance in extreme conditions

An Intel Core i5-3340M processor running at 2.70 GHz and 8 GB of memory drive the 13.1 inch XGA touchscreen. The 240 GB solid-state drive has no moving parts, maintaining data access during shock or vibration. Passive cooling and the sealed design allow continuous operation across the certified temperature range without thermal throttling from dust-clogged vents.

Sealed connectivity and modular expansion

Dual pass-through antenna connectors support upper WWAN and lower selectable radio modules for reliable vehicle-mounted comms. Standard ports are protected by spring-loaded covers that maintain ingress protection when cables are removed. A TPM 1.2 module provides hardware-based encryption for sensitive data handled in the field.

Questions about this item

How loud or hot does the CF-31 MK4 get under continuous load?

The rugged magnesium chassis and MIL-STD-810G design dissipate heat passively; fan noise stays low during typical workloads.

What must I already own to start using this Toughbook?

Only the included AC adapter is required; Windows 10 Pro, 8 GB RAM and the 240 GB SSD are pre-installed.

Can the CF-31 MK4 share peripherals with older equipment I keep?

Yes — standard USB ports, VGA output and a serial port connect legacy devices directly.
