Fully rugged laptop for field work

The Panasonic Toughbook CF-31 MK6 is a fully rugged laptop built for professionals who operate in harsh outdoor or industrial environments. Its magnesium alloy chassis with an integrated handle withstands drops, vibration and extreme temperatures. A 13.1 inch sunlight-readable touchscreen rated at 1200 nits remains visible in direct daylight. The system runs Windows 10 Pro and is not upgradeable to Windows 11.

Connectivity and expansion for mobile deployments

The laptop includes 4G LTE, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for constant connectivity on the move. A docking connector, HDMI, VGA, serial D-sub 9-pin, one USB 3.0 port, three USB 2.0 ports, an SDXC card slot and audio jacks support legacy and modern peripherals. An internal multi-DVD drive handles optical media without external accessories. The emissive backlit keyboard enables typing in low-light conditions.

Sustained performance with 32 GB DDR4 and 1 TB SSD

An Intel Core i5-7300U processor runs at 2.6 GHz with Turbo Boost up to 3.5 GHz and 3 MB cache, paired with 32 GB DDR4 memory and a 1 TB SSD. This configuration handles long shifts of data logging, mapping or diagnostics without thermal throttling. The rugged design dissipates heat passively through the chassis, maintaining stable clocks under continuous load. A 90-day warranty covers the unit.

Questions about this item

How long can the i5-7300U sustain 3.5 GHz before thermal limits cut the clock speed?

The processor reaches 3.5 GHz via Turbo Boost, but sustained frequency under load depends on the magnesium alloy chassis and internal cooling design.

What is the typical fan noise and surface temperature when the laptop runs continuously on 4G LTE?

The fully-rugged build uses passive and active cooling across the alloy case; fan speed and palm-rest temperature rise with sustained CPU and modem use.

Which docking station or port replicator is required to add more than one USB 3.0 device?

The laptop provides one USB 3.0 port and three USB 2.0 ports; a compatible docking connector expands high-speed USB and video outputs.
