Category 6 RJ45 coupler module

This orange Mini-Com module joins two Category 6 patch cords with a single 8-position, 8-wire universal connector. It is built for installers and network technicians who need a quick, standards-compliant link without re-terminating cables.

Sustained signal integrity

The coupler maintains Category 6 performance across the full channel, supporting continuous data streams without the degradation that can appear in improvised splices. RoHS-compliant materials ensure consistent electrical characteristics over long-term deployment in structured cabling systems.

Compact Mini-Com footprint

At 1.13 inches deep and 0.71 inches high, the module fits high-density patch panels and surface-mount boxes where space is limited. The orange housing provides instant visual identification in colour-coded installations, and the snap-in design allows tool-free moves, adds and changes.

Questions about this item

Does the CC688OR coupler generate heat or consume power during continuous use?

The passive CC688OR coupler has no active electronics, so it produces no heat and draws no power when installed in a Cat 6 link.

What patch cables and mounting hardware are required to use this coupler?

Two standard Cat 6 RJ45 patch cords and a Mini-Com compatible faceplate, surface-mount box or patch panel are needed to complete the connection.

Will the orange CC688OR work with existing Cat 5e patch cords and panels?

Yes, the 8-position RJ45 interface is backward compatible, so Cat 5e cords and legacy panels will connect, though the link will operate at Cat 5e performance.
