Fiber Optic Duplex Connector

This Panduit adapter provides a duplex SC female interface for multimode fiber links. It is built for installers and network engineers who need a reliable bulkhead or patch-panel connection in structured cabling environments.

10Gig OM3 OM4 Upgrade Path

The module ships with a 10Gig OM3/OM4 duplex adapter featuring phosphor bronze split sleeves, replacing older OM1 or OM2 couplers when bandwidth requirements move to 10 Gbps. The jump is worth it when existing backbone cabling is already OM3 or OM4 and the current connectors limit throughput.

Compatibility Check Points

Verify that your patch cords and backbone cables use SC connectors and match the OM3 or OM4 multimode rating. Confirm the panel cut-out accepts the duplex SC footprint and that the aqua adapter colour aligns with your colour-coding scheme for 10 Gbps multimode runs.

Questions about this item

What panel cut-out size is required to mount the SC duplex adapter?

The module fits a standard SC duplex panel opening; the flange aligns with the cut-out and secures with two screws.

Which way do the phosphor bronze split sleeves face when inserting the ferrules?

The split sleeves sit inside the adapter bore; push each ferrule straight in until it clicks — do not twist or the sleeves can deform.

When should the phosphor bronze split sleeves be replaced?

Replace the sleeves if insertion loss rises above your link budget or if visual inspection shows pitting or deformation after repeated matings.
