Mini-Com TX5e UTP Connector

The Panduit Mini-Com TX5e UTP Connector is a red RJ-45 female network connector designed for structured cabling systems. It fits Mini-Com modular patch panels, faceplates and surface mount boxes. The connector meets RoHS environmental standards and is supplied new.

Installers extending Cat5e patching in Mini-Com

Network technicians adding or replacing Cat5e drops in existing Mini-Com panels, faceplates or surface-mount boxes will find this connector a direct fit. It is not suited for installations that require shielded, Cat6 or higher-category terminations, nor for keystone footprints outside the Mini-Com range.

Tool-free snap-in installation into Mini-Com

The connector snaps into any Mini-Com compatible opening without screws; a standard punch-down tool seats the conductors. The main issue arises when the connector is forced into non-Mini-Com keystone cut-outs, which damages the retention clips and prevents a secure mount.

Questions about this item

What type of Mini-Com patch panel or faceplate do I need to mount this red TX5e UTP connector?

This connector snaps into any Panduit Mini-Com modular patch panel, faceplate or surface-mount box; the Mini-Com footprint is the only requirement.

Will this Category 5e RJ-45 jack work with the Category 5 or Category 6 cables already terminated in my rack?

Yes, the TX5e jack is backward-compatible with Category 5 links and will pass Category 6 cables at Category 5e performance levels.

How can I verify the connector is seated and passing traffic after I punch it down?

A cable certifier or qualifier should report a Category 5e pass, and link LEDs on the switch will light when a live device is plugged in.
