  • OM3 multimode fibre for high-bandwidth links

  • Riser-rated jacket meets vertical-run safety codes
  • 6 mm cable diameter balances flexibility and durability
  • Factory-tested insertion loss within standard limits

OM3 duplex patch cord for short-range links

This OM3 duplex patch cord carries two fibres in a 1.6 mm jacket and is rated for riser installations. It suits installers who need a short, standards-compliant link between patch panels or transceivers in a building backbone.

LC duplex connectors on both ends

The cable terminates with LC duplex connectors at each end, so it plugs straight into matching SFP or patch-panel ports without adapters. The 5 m length keeps excess slack to a minimum in rack rows or cabinet runs.

Simple push-pull fit, watch bend radius

Push the LC duplex plugs until they click; no tools are required. The main risk is bending the 1.6 mm jacket tighter than the minimum bend radius, which can raise insertion loss or break fibres.

Questions about this item

Will the 1.6 mm jacket need replacement under normal handling?

The 1.6 mm riser-rated jacket is designed for indoor routing and resists typical bend stress; no scheduled replacement is required.

What limits the OM3 fibre on a 5 m run during sustained traffic?

Insertion loss is the first constraint; the standard-loss duplex cord keeps attenuation low enough for full-speed links at this length.

Does the cable generate heat or draw power when carrying data all day?

Passive glass fibre carries light only, so the cord produces no heat and consumes no power during continuous operation.
