Everyday writing comfort

Paper Mate 1738798DZ ComfortMate Ultra mechanical pencils come in a pack of one dozen. The 0.7mm lead size suits students, office workers and anyone who writes for long periods. A jumbo cushioned grip and hourglass barrel reduce hand fatigue during extended sessions. Each pencil is refillable for continued use.

Lead capacity and limits

The 0.7mm #2 leads write neatly and work well for standardised tests and general note-taking. Click-to-advance mechanism keeps the tip ready without sharpening. Very fine detail work or heavy shading may need a thinner or softer lead grade not supplied here. The dozen pack provides enough spares for a term or project.

Thermals noise and power

Mechanical pencils have no electronics, so they generate no heat and make no sound beyond the click advance. No batteries or charging are required at any time. The plastic barrel stays at room temperature in normal indoor use. Erasers remove marks cleanly without smudging the page.

Questions about this item

Will the 0.7 mm #2 leads in these ComfortMate Ultra pencils work with the older scantron sheets I still use?

Yes, the 0.7 mm #2 leads write neatly and are ideal for standardized tests, so they perform the same way on legacy scantron forms.

How can I confirm the click-to-advance mechanism is feeding lead correctly after I start using a pencil?

Press the click button; lead should extend smoothly and the eraser should remove marks cleanly without smudging.

Does the dozen pack include extra lead refills and erasers, or must I buy them separately?

The pack contains twelve ComfortMate Ultra pencils with 0.7 mm #2 leads and erasers already installed; refill leads and replacement erasers are sold separately.
