Purpose-built firewall appliance

The Partaker 16G is a compact desktop network security device powered by an Intel Core i7-1255U processor with 10 cores and 12 threads reaching 4.7 GHz turbo. It ships with 16 GB of DDR4 memory and a 256 GB NVMe SSD, providing a ready-to-deploy platform for routing, VPN and intrusion-prevention workloads. Six Intel 2.5GbE LAN ports enable high-throughput segmentation across multiple network zones.

Thermals noise and power

The CPU operates at a 15 W TDP and is cooled by a combined active and passive design with a PWM-controlled fan that adjusts speed to load. The chassis is rated for continuous operation from 0 °C to 50 °C with commercial storage or -20 °C to 50 °C with an industrial SSD, and tolerates up to 95 % non-condensing humidity. Power is supplied via an external 12 V adapter accepting 100-240 V AC input.

Build integration

The aluminium enclosure measures 186 x 126.5 x 66 mm and weighs 1.3 kg, fitting easily on a shelf or in a rack tray. Expansion includes one M.2 2280 NVMe slot, one 2.5-inch SATA bay, an M.2 2230 E-key for wireless and an M.2 3052 B-key for 4G or 5G modules. Dual 4K display outputs via HDMI 2.1 and DP 1.4a plus six USB ports and a COM console simplify local management and monitoring.

Questions about this item

How do I install the Partaker 16G firewall appliance in a rack or on a wall?

The unit measures 186 x 126.5 x 66 mm and weighs 1.3 kg. It uses a fanless aluminum chassis with a PWM fan for active cooling. Mount it on a flat surface with the included brackets, ensuring airflow around the top and side vents. Do not block the fan intake.

What maintenance or replacement will the Partaker 16G need over time?

The PWM intelligent temperature-control fan is the only moving part and may require cleaning or replacement after extended 24/7 operation. The 12 V DC power adapter is external and can be swapped if it fails. RAM and storage are user-replaceable via the two SODIMM slots and M.2 2280 NVMe or 2.5" SATA bays.

What is the first limit that appears under sustained full-load traffic?

The CPU has a 15 W TDP and relies on the PWM fan and passive aluminum heatsink. Under continuous multi-gigabit routing with encryption, thermal throttling at the 50 °C ambient limit will occur before the six 2.5 GbE ports saturate.
