1U firewall appliance with C3758

The Partaker R13 is a 1U rackmount firewall appliance built around an Intel Atom C3758 processor with AES-NI support. It ships with 8 GB of DDR4 memory and a 256 GB NVME SSD. The unit provides ten RJ-45 ports and four SFP+ optical interfaces, making it suitable for small-to-medium network edge deployments. It runs FreeBSD, Linux or Windows and supports OPNsense, pfSense and RouterOS out of the box.

Upgrade from basic router or virtual appliance

This hardware replaces a consumer router or a virtual firewall running on shared infrastructure when deterministic throughput and hardware crypto acceleration are required. The C3758 delivers eight cores at up to 2.20 GHz with a 25 W TDP, enabling line-rate inspection on the 1 GbE and 2.5 GbE ports without hypervisor overhead. The jump is worth it when VPN tunnel counts, VLAN segmentation or IDS/IPS rules exceed what a software-only platform can sustain.

Suits network engineers building dedicated edge

The appliance suits engineers who need a quiet, low-power 1U box with console, USB 2.0, USB 3.0 and VGA for local management. It also fits sites requiring redundant power-on features such as Wake-on-LAN, scheduled boot and hardware auto power-on. Builders who need more than 64 GB of RAM, additional PCIe expansion beyond the single x8 slot, or integrated Wi-Fi without using the Mini PCIe or M.2 3052 slots should look at a larger platform.
