1U firewall appliance with Atom C3808

The Partaker R13-C3808-16G-128G is a 1U rack-mountable firewall appliance built around an Intel Atom C3808 processor running up to 2.0 GHz. It ships with 16 GB of DDR4 memory and a 128 GB NVME SSD, and supports pfSense, OPNsense and other FreeBSD or Linux-based routing platforms. The unit includes ten RJ-45 ports and four SFP+ optical interfaces for diverse network connectivity.

Verify rack space power and OS compatibility

Confirm that your rack or wall-mount location can accommodate a 484 mm wide by 252 mm deep 1U chassis. The appliance requires a 100-240 V AC supply rated at 1.0 A and operates within a 0 to 50 °C commercial temperature range. Ensure your chosen firewall distribution supports the Intel I211, I350, I225-V and X553 network controllers and UEFI-only boot.

Ten gigabit and SFP+ ports plus expansion slots

The system provides six 1 GbE and four 2.5 GbE RJ-45 ports alongside four SFP+ cages for fibre uplinks. An internal PCIe x8 slot, a Mini PCIe slot and an M.2 3052 slot with SIM holder allow wireless or cellular add-ons. Two SODIMM slots support up to 64 GB of DDR4, while an M.2 2280 NVME slot and a 2.5-inch SATA bay offer additional storage capacity.

Questions about this item

What comes in the box and which cables or modules must I purchase separately?

The box contains the Partaker R13 firewall appliance, rackable ears, a power cord and a warranty card. SFP+ transceivers, WiFi or 4G modules for the Mini PCIe and M.2 3052 slots, and a 2.5-inch SATA drive are not included.

Should I choose the 16 GB or the maximum 64 GB RAM option for this model?

The unit ships with 16 GB DDR4 2400 MT/s in two SODIMM slots and supports up to 64 GB total. Select 64 GB if you plan heavy VPN concurrency, large state tables or multiple virtual appliances; 16 GB is sufficient for typical branch-office routing and IDS/IPS.

What does the 2.0 GHz Atom C3808 rating mean for real-world throughput with all ten RJ-45 and four SFP+ ports active?

The eight-core C3808 with AES-NI can sustain multi-gigabit routing and VPN encryption across the 2 x I211 1GbE, 4 x I350 1GbE, 4 x I225-V 2.5GbE and 4 x X553 SFP+ interfaces, limited by the 25 W TDP and passive airflow design.
