1U Firewall Appliance with Atom C3958

The Partaker R6 is a 1U rack-mountable firewall appliance built around an Intel Atom C3958 processor with AES-NI hardware encryption. It ships with 16 GB of DDR4 memory and a 512 GB SSD, and includes an ATX power supply. The platform is compatible with FreeBSD, Linux and Windows and integrates with pfSense, OPNsense and other open-source firewall distributions.

Suited for multi-gigabit edge deployments

Six Gigabit RJ-45 ports and four 10G SFP+ ports provide high-density connectivity for branch offices, data centres or managed-service providers who need hardware-accelerated encryption. Buyers requiring more than 64 GB of RAM, additional PCIe expansion beyond a single x8 slot, or integrated Wi-Fi without add-on cards should consider other platforms.

16 GB RAM and 512 GB NVMe headroom

The installed 16 GB DDR4 handles typical state tables, VPN tunnels and logging workloads with room to grow toward the 64 GB maximum. The 512 GB NVMe drive stores OS images, packages and logs comfortably; heavier log retention or local caching will eventually require the secondary 2.5-inch SATA bay or external storage.

Questions about this item

What rack space and power circuit do I need to install the 1U chassis?

The appliance fits a standard 19-inch rack using the included mounting ears and draws 100-240 V AC at 1.0 A with a 12 V 6.25 A supply.

Can the six RJ-45 ports and four SFP+ interfaces run together with my existing 1 GbE switches?

Yes, the six RJ-45 ports operate at 10/100/1000 Mbps and the four SFP+ ports use Intel X553 10 GbE optics, so both can connect to current 1 GbE gear.

How do I confirm the AES-NI engine is active after installing OPNsense?

Check the dashboard or run the CPU feature command in the OS; AES-NI will show as supported on the Intel Atom C3958 processor.
