Intel Core i7-3770 1U firewall appliance

The Partaker R9 is a 19-inch 1U rackmount network appliance built around an Intel Core i7-3770 processor with AES-NI support. It ships with 8 GB of DDR3 memory and a 128 GB mSATA SSD, plus a spare 2.5/3.5-inch drive bay. Six Intel Gigabit Ethernet ports provide 10/100/1000 Mbps wired connectivity for routing, VPN and firewall duties.

Upgrade from software routers or older appliances

This unit replaces a virtual machine, an older single-core box or a consumer router when you need dedicated hardware acceleration for encryption and higher packet-forwarding capacity. The jump is worth it when your throughput regularly approaches 1000 Mbps and you require a fan-cooled chassis that fits a standard 19-inch rack.

8 GB RAM and 128 GB SSD headroom

The installed 8 GB handles typical pfSense, OPNsense or Untangle workloads with room for logging and packages; the board supports up to 32 GB via two SODIMM slots. The 128 GB mSATA SSD covers the OS and moderate log retention, while the extra drive bay adds bulk storage when log volume or packet captures grow beyond the primary drive.

Questions about this item

How much clearance does the 430 x 270 x 50 mm 1U chassis need in a 19-inch rack?

The unit occupies exactly 1U of rack height and fits standard 19-inch cabinets; allow the full 430 mm depth for cables and the rear power inlet.

Which screws secure the supplied mounting brackets to the front flange?

Use the standard M6 cage nuts and screws provided with your rack; the brackets align with the universal 19-inch hole pattern so no proprietary hardware is required.

What is the maximum RAM the two SODIMM slots can accept?

The board supports up to 32 GB of DDR3 1333/1600 memory across the two slots; the appliance ships with 8 GB installed.
