What this product is

The Patriot PDP31 is a 1TB external solid-state drive that connects through a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port. It delivers sequential read and write speeds up to 1000 MBps using a 10Gbps controller. The red aluminium alloy shell includes a transparent window and a silicone bumper for shock protection. It suits photographers, video editors and professionals who move large project files between Windows, Mac, Linux or Android devices.

Installing and common issues

Plug the supplied 12cm cable into a USB Type-C socket; the drive is hot-swappable and requires no driver installation on supported operating systems. The reversible connector prevents upside-down insertion. If transfer rates fall below expectations, verify that the host port runs at USB 3.2 Gen 2 or USB 3.0 rather than USB 2.0, and confirm the cable is fully seated on both ends.

Check before ordering

Ensure your computer or mobile device offers a USB Type-C port or a compatible Type-A port with an adapter. The drive draws power from the bus, so the host must supply sufficient current over a single port. Confirm the operating system is a recent version of Windows, macOS, Linux or Android that supports mass-storage class devices. Buyers needing more than 1TB of capacity should consider a higher-capacity model.

Questions about this item

How can I verify the PDP31 is delivering the 1000 MBps sequential read and write speeds after setup?

Connect the drive via its USB Type-C cable to a USB 3.2 Gen 2 port, then run a benchmark tool such as CrystalDiskMark or AS SSD; the results should show sequential read and write near 1000 MBps.

What accessories are included with the 1TB PDP31 and what must I source separately?

The box contains the PDP31 SSD with its aluminium alloy shell, a 12 cm USB Type-C cable and a silicone bumper; no separate power adapter or longer cable is required for standard operation.

Which PDP31 capacity should I choose between the 1TB model and the larger option?

Choose the 1TB PDP311TB23UCK if your active projects fit within that space; select the 2TB version only when you need room for larger video libraries or extensive backups.
