What this strip is and who it suits

This 6.56 ft COB LED strip runs on 5 V USB power and delivers 1200 lm of 2700 K warm white light. It is built for indoor DIY projects such as under-cabinet, TV backlight or bedroom accent lighting where a plug-and-play USB source is convenient. The high-density 320 LEDs per metre layout produces a smooth, dot-free line suited to close-up viewing.

The spec that decides fit

The strip draws 5 W at 5 V and requires a USB port or adapter capable of supplying at least 2 A. If the available USB port is limited to 1 A or the project needs a longer run than the single 2 m reel, this kit will not meet the requirement. No external driver or soldering is included, so the power source must match the 5 V 2 A minimum.

Installation ease and common pitfalls

The reel ships with a 2.6 ft power lead and genuine 3M adhesive on a double-layer copper PCB for a secure bond to clean, dry, smooth surfaces. The flexible design allows gentle bends for custom shapes. The most frequent issue is insufficient surface preparation — dust, texture or moisture causing the tape to lift — and using a USB port that cannot sustain the 2 A draw, which leads to flicker or dim output.

Questions about this item

How bright is the 1200 lm output once the strip is installed?

The strip produces 1200 lm of warm white light at 2700 K with a CRI above 90, giving even illumination without dark spots for under-cabinet or TV-backlight use.

What does the 5 V USB power limit mean for brightness and run time?

The strip draws 5 W from any USB port supplying 5 V / 2 A or more, so maximum brightness is fixed at 1200 lm and the LEDs are rated for 50 000 hours of operation.

What surface and clearance does the 6.56 ft strip need for mounting?

The 10 mm wide flexible PCB uses genuine 3M adhesive and sticks to clean, dry, smooth surfaces; the 2.6 ft power cable reaches most nearby USB ports.
