Collar Mount for GPS Timing Antennas

The PCTEL collar mount secures GPS timing antennas to masts or poles using a cast-aluminium body. It ships with a gasket, four M5 mounting screws, two 0.25-20 UNC-3A x 1.0 set screws and an Allen wrench. Installers who need a rugged, single-piece bracket for permanent outdoor mounting will find the kit complete.

M5 and 0.25-20 UNC-3A Thread Compatibility

The mount accepts both M5 hardware and 0.25-20 UNC-3A set screws, so the antenna base must match one of those thread patterns. If the antenna uses a different thread size or pitch, the collar cannot clamp it without an adapter that is not included.

Cast Aluminium Performance in Continuous Exposure

Cast aluminium resists corrosion and thermal cycling during year-round outdoor service. The gasket seals the joint against moisture ingress while the set screws maintain clamping force under vibration. The mount is not suited for installations that require a non-metallic or insulated interface.

Questions about this item

What does the M5 UNC-3A 1.0 designation mean for the mounting hardware?

It indicates two 0.25-20 UNC-3A set screws each 1.0 inch long, plus four M5 mounting screws and an Allen wrench included for installation.

What thread standard do the set screws follow and how does it affect compatibility?

The set screws use a 0.25-20 UNC-3A thread, a coarse Unified National standard that matches corresponding tapped holes on compatible GPS timing antennas.

What physical features allow this collar to attach to a pole or mast?

The cast aluminium collar includes a gasket and uses the four M5 screws to clamp around the mounting surface, while the two UNC set screws secure the antenna element.
