Transport Chain Grade 70

The Peerless 5262460 is a 25 ft Grade 70 transport chain built from carbon steel with a gold chromate finish. It includes a grab hook and uses welded straight links sized at 3/8 in trade size. This chain is designed for load binding and tie-down applications, not for overhead lifting.

Working Load Limit 6,600 lb

The chain carries a working load limit of 6,600 lb with a material thickness of 25/64 in and a weight of 1.38 lb per foot. Each link measures 1 3/8 in inside length by 5/8 in inside width with nine links per foot. It meets NACM standards and fits 3/8 in compatible fittings.

Not for Lifting

This product is not rated for lifting, so it cannot serve rigging or hoisting duties. Buyers who need overhead lifting capacity must select a chain certified for that purpose. The grab hook and Grade 70 strength suit cargo securement and towing where lifting approval is not required.

Questions about this item

Will the 3/8 in trade size on this 25 ft Grade 70 chain match the 3/8 in compatible fitting thickness on my existing load binders?

Yes, the chain is built to a 3/8 in trade size with a 3/8 in compatible fitting thickness, so it fits standard 3/8 in Grade 70 binders and grab hooks.

How can I confirm the 6,600 lb working load limit is still valid after I install the included grab hook?

Inspect every welded link for cracks or elongation, verify the grab hook seats fully without deformation, and check that the gold chromate finish shows no heavy corrosion before each use.

Does the 25 ft chain come with both grab hooks attached, or do I need to buy a second hook separately?

The description lists a single included grab hook, so the chain arrives with one hook fitted; a second hook for the opposite end must be purchased separately.
