Product Identity

This 650-foot reel of 1/8-inch 316 stainless steel wire rope is built for marine-grade handrail and safety installations. The aircraft-grade 7×7 braided construction suits deck railing systems, stair handrails and general-purpose hanging tasks where corrosion resistance matters.

Decisive Specification

Type 316 stainless steel with 3% molybdenum delivers ASTM-standard corrosion, heat and low-temperature resistance. The 7×7 strand layout reaches an 1800-lb breaking force while the rated safe working tension is 260 lbs.

Sustained Load Behaviour

The polished chrome finish and molybdenum-alloyed 316 alloy maintain strength through continuous outdoor exposure without pitting or stress-corrosion cracking. A bundled cutter with hardened blades and a safety lock allows clean, repeatable cuts during long installations, and the large-core reel prevents kinking that could weaken the rope over time.

Questions about this item

How much weight can the 1800 lbs breaking force actually support in a handrail installation?

The cable is rated for 260 lbs safe working tension, which is the load you should design to for stair handrails and deck railing systems.

What does the 316 stainless steel designation mean for corrosion resistance?

Type 316 stainless steel contains molybdenum for aircraft-grade resistance to corrosion, heat and low temperatures in indoor and outdoor environments.

Will the 650 ft length arrive on a single reel for easy handling?

The rope is supplied as 250 ft on a large core reel to prevent tangling; the 650 ft total may consist of multiple reels.
