Pair of Rubber Cable Chain Tighteners

This set contains two rubber tighteners designed to keep compatible snow cable chains tensioned on the tyre. They are intended for drivers who fit Super Z-6 or Super Z chains and need a simple way to maintain a secure fit. Buyers who use a different chain system or who prefer metal tensioners will not be served by this product.

Compatibility With Super Z-6 and Super Z Chains

The tighteners are made for Super Z-6 models SZ435, SZ441, SZ447 and SZ451, plus Super Z models ZT735, ZT741, ZT747 and ZT715. Using them with these chains helps reduce slack that can cause chain movement or damage. They do not work with other chain brands or models not listed here.

Compact Rubber Construction

Each tightener measures 2.00 inches high, 3.50 inches wide and 6.00 inches long, weighing 0.50 lb for the pair. The rubber material flexes to absorb shock while holding the chain snug against the tread. The small footprint means they store easily in a vehicle compartment when not in use.

Questions about this item

How often do the rubber tighteners in the NUT-SZ1176 set need to be replaced?

The rubber tighteners are consumable items; replace them when the rubber shows cracking, loss of elasticity, or permanent deformation.

What is the first limit reached when the NUT-SZ1176 tighteners are used continuously on Super Z chains?

The rubber stretches under constant tension, reducing its ability to keep the cable chains snug against the tire tread.

How much heat do the NUT-SZ1176 rubber tighteners generate during all-day use?

The rubber tighteners add negligible heat; operating temperature follows the tire and chain assembly, not the tighteners themselves.
