Pelican 1730 Transport Case with Foam

The Pelican 1730 Transport Case in Desert Tan is a heavy-duty protective container built for transporting sensitive equipment. Its watertight, crushproof and dust proof construction meets demanding transport requirements across commercial, military and outdoor environments.

Suited for users needing maximum interior volume

This case serves teams moving large, bulky payloads that require integrated wheels and fold-down handles. It is less practical for anyone carrying gear by hand over long distances or storing equipment in tight overhead compartments where its exterior footprint becomes a constraint.

Pick N Pluck foam enables custom interior layouts

The supplied foam lets owners cut precise cavities matching specific tools, instruments or weapons, eliminating internal movement during transit. The O-ring seal and automatic pressure equalisation valve maintain the watertight barrier after the foam is configured, preserving protection without additional sealing steps.

Questions about this item

What interior depth does the 1730 case provide for gear that must fit inside the foam?

The interior depth is 12.5 in (31.7 cm), so measure your tallest item against that figure before cutting the Pick N Pluck foam.

Will the automatic pressure equalisation valve still function if the case sits stacked under older Pelican cases?

Yes, the valve equalises pressure regardless of stacking, and the extra-deep cleats keep the stack stable while the valve operates.

How can I confirm the O-ring seal is watertight after I pack the case?

Close the Double Throw latches, then press the valve button; if the case holds a slight vacuum when you lift a corner, the seal is intact.
