Product identity

The PenPower WorldCard Link Pro SWCLIPH5EN is a dedicated card scanner built to work with the iPhone 5 and 5s. It combines a foldable stand, a dock and an app to capture contact details from business cards automatically.

Who it suits

Professionals who still use an iPhone 5 or 5s and want to digitise paper cards without manual entry will find this device fits their workflow. Users with any other phone, including later iPhone models, cannot connect to the dock and should look for a different capture method.

Deciding specification

The scanner only operates when an iPhone 5 or 5s is seated in the supplied dock, so ownership of one of those two handsets is the single factor that determines whether the product can be used.

Questions about this item

Does the WorldCard Link Pro dock run warm or draw much power when scanning cards all day?

The dock weighs 0.15 lbs and measures 5.83 x 2.91 x 1.13 inches; it has no fan or active cooling, so it stays cool and draws minimal power from the iPhone 5.

What iPhone model and software must I already own for the SWCLIPH5EN to work?

You need an iPhone 5 or 5s plus the WorldCard app installed; the dock and foldable stand connect to the phone, and the included CD installs the PC sync software.

Will the scanner still sync contacts to my older PC running Outlook?

Yes, captured data syncs from the iPhone to the PC via the supplied software and can be integrated directly with Outlook contacts.
