SKU CH-JQB5-29R05

A waterproof 100 mm spotting scope with ED glass, nitrogen-filled fogproof construction and interchangeable telescope eyepieces

  • Large 100 mm objective lens gathers more light
  • Extra Low Dispersion optics reduce chromatic aberration
  • Waterproof nitrogen-filled body prevents internal fogging
  • Super-Multi-Coating maximises light transmission for brighter views
  • Accepts standard 1 1/4 inch telescope eyepieces

Purpose and user

The Pentax PF-100ED is a 100 mm straight-view spotting scope built for birders, nature observers and target shooters who need bright, high-resolution images at long distances. Its large objective lens and Extra Low Dispersion glass suit users who prioritise optical clarity over a compact form factor.

Sustained optical behaviour

ED optics with Lanthanum Crown elements suppress chromatic aberration during extended viewing sessions, maintaining sharpness and colour fidelity across the field. Nitrogen-filled waterproof and fogproof construction prevents internal condensation when temperatures shift, so image quality remains stable in damp or variable conditions.

Interface practical limits

The scope accepts all standard 1 1/4 inch interchangeable telescope eyepieces and is compatible with XL series eyepieces for wider apparent fields. Magnification range and eye relief are therefore defined by the chosen eyepiece rather than by a fixed internal zoom, limiting flexibility to the eyepieces you own or purchase separately.
