Pentel Champ .5 mm Dozen

The Pentel AL15A Champ is a mechanical pencil sold in a 12-count pack for students, office workers and anyone who writes daily. Its 0.5 mm lead matches standard No. 2 equivalence and scans on standardized tests, making it a practical choice for exams and general note-taking.

Capacity and refill limits

Each pencil takes Pentel Super Hi-Polymer .5 mm lead and a PDE-1 large refill eraser, so supplies are easy to replenish. The fixed sleeve and stationary tip mean the writing point stays consistent, though users who prefer a retractable tip or a larger lead diameter will need a different model.

Build and everyday carry

A smooth translucent gray barrel and latex-free rubber grip provide comfort during long sessions, while a top-click advance and pocket clip keep the pencil ready in a shirt pocket or bag. The fixed sleeve does not retract, so the tip stays exposed when clipped — something to note if you carry it loose with delicate items.

Questions about this item

Will the .5 mm lead work with the older Pentel Super Hi-Polymer refills I already have?

Yes, the pencils are refillable with Pentel Super Hi-Polymer lead in .5 mm diameter.

How can I confirm the top-click advance and stationary eraser function correctly after opening the box?

Press the top button to extend lead; it should click and hold. The fixed eraser under the cap should stay in place and erase cleanly.

Does the dozen pack include replacement erasers or only the pencils?

The box contains 12 mechanical pencils with installed erasers; PDE-1 large refill erasers and extra lead are sold separately.
