0.50 mm mechanical pencil

This Pentel AZ125A mechanical pencil uses 0.50 mm lead and features the Lead Maximizer mechanism that automatically advances reserve lead for full usage. The large ergonomic barrel and rubber grip provide comfort and control during extended writing sessions.

Writers who prefer thin lines

Suits students, professionals and drafters who want consistent 0.50 mm lines without manually clicking lead forward. Not for artists who need broader stroke widths or users who prefer a retractable tip design.

Lead Maximizer automatic advance mechanism

The internal mechanism feeds reserve lead automatically so the full length of each stick is used before the next advances. Refillable with Pentel Super Hi-Polymer lead and PDE-1 large refill eraser for continued use.

Questions about this item

How do I install the lead in the Pentel AZ125A and what is the step people often miss?

Remove the eraser, drop .50 mm Super Hi-Polymer lead into the barrel, then replace the eraser; the step people miss is seating the eraser fully so the Lead Maximizer mechanism can advance the reserve lead automatically.

What maintenance or replacement will the Pentel AZ125A need later?

Refill with Pentel Super Hi-Polymer .50 mm lead when empty and swap the eraser for a PDE-1 large refill eraser once the built-in eraser wears down.

What limit shows up first on the Pentel AZ125A during long writing sessions?

The fixed sleeve and stationary tip transmit more vibration to the fingers than a retractable sleeve, so hand fatigue typically appears before the Lead Maximizer mechanism runs out of lead.
