Retractable gel pen

The Pentel BLN77-B is a retractable roller-ball gel pen with a needle tip that delivers red ink. Its hybrid liquid-gel formula dries quickly to prevent smearing and blotting. The barrel features stainless-steel accents for a professional appearance. Sold as a single unit.

Left-handed writers and quick-dry needs

The acid-free ink suits left-handed users who need fast drying without smudges. The medium needle tip produces a consistent line for everyday writing tasks. Buyers who want a finer or broader line width should look at something else. Those requiring archival permanence beyond acid-free formulation should also consider alternatives.

RTX ink technology

The exclusive RTX ink/tip system blends liquid and gel properties for a super-smooth writing experience. This technology controls ink flow to match the needle-tip precision. It is the specification that determines whether the pen feels smooth or scratchy on paper. Match the medium tip size to your preferred stroke width.

Questions about this item

How often will the refill need replacing on the Pentel BLN77B RTX pen?

The pen uses a standard EnerGel refill that lasts through many pages of writing; replace it when the ink flow becomes faint or skips.

What is the first limit you notice when writing continuously with the needle tip?

The medium needle tip delivers a consistent line until the ink reservoir is depleted; there is no heat or mechanical limit during normal use.

Does the retractable mechanism or grip area get warm during all-day writing sessions?

The stainless-steel accents and plastic barrel stay at room temperature; the pen produces no noticeable heat or noise during extended use.
