Retractable mechanical pencil with comfort grip

The Pentel PL77A is a refillable mechanical pencil designed for everyday writing tasks. Its retractable tip protects pockets and bags from damage when carried. A grooved, latex-free rubber grip supports comfort and control during extended use. The pencil comes preloaded with Super Hi-Polymer HB lead that produces a dark line without sharpening.

Suited for daily writing, not for technical drawing

This pencil suits students, office workers and anyone who wants a reliable refillable instrument for general note-taking. The fixed sleeve and stationary eraser support routine drafting and editing. Buyers who need a longer sleeve for template work or a larger eraser for heavy corrections should consider other options.

Refillable with Super Hi-Polymer lead and Z2-1

The pencil accepts Pentel Super Hi-Polymer lead refills and the Z2-1 refill eraser, so it can be reused indefinitely. This compatibility is the single specification that determines whether the product fits a user's existing supply of refills.

Questions about this item

Which version of the PL77A should I choose?

The PL77A is offered as a single mechanical pencil in a black and grey colourway, sold as one each, so there are no alternative versions or capacities to select.

What does the HB lead mean for everyday writing?

The pencil comes preloaded with Pentel Super Hi-Polymer HB lead that produces a dark line and never needs sharpening, making it ready for general writing tasks straight away.

How does the refill system work in practice?

It uses a top-click mechanism to advance the lead and accepts Pentel Super Hi-Polymer Lead refills plus Z2-1 refill erasers, so both consumables are replaceable without tools.
