Peplink MAX BR1 Pro CAT 20 LTE-A Pro Router

The Peplink MAX BR1 Pro is a new LTE-A Pro wireless router built around a Category 20 modem. It delivers up to 2 Gbps downlink and 211 Mbps uplink cellular speeds. The unit includes dual SIM slots, a GPS receiver and Wi-Fi 6 with 2x2 MU-MIMO for simultaneous dual-band access. SpeedFusion Hot Failover, WAN Smoothing and Bandwidth Bonding are included with a PrimeCare subscription complimentary for the first year.

Mobile deployments needing resilient multi-WAN

This router suits vehicles, pop-up sites and remote offices that require automatic failover between two SIMs and the single Ethernet WAN port. It also supports PepVPN with up to five peers and 200 Mbps AES throughput when PrimeCare is active. Builders who need more than one wired WAN port, SFP connectivity or higher router throughput than 1 Gbps should look at a different platform.

Category 20 modem with dual SIM redundancy

The deciding specification is the CAT-20 modem providing 2 Gbps downlink and 211 Mbps uplink across two redundant SIM slots. This capacity determines whether the router can meet the bandwidth and failover requirements of the intended mobile or fixed-wireless deployment.
