Pixhawk PX4 32-Bit Flight Controller Kit

This kit provides a complete flight-control package built around a 32-bit ARM Cortex-M4 processor running the NuttX RTOS. It includes the main board, a safety switch, buzzer, I2C splitter expansion module and a 16 GB SD card. The integrated backup power system automatically fails over to a backup controller if the primary unit fails. The hardware is new and intended for drone builders and hobbyists.

Suited for autonomous drone projects needing

Builders who require dual-controller redundancy and real-time operating-system support will find the integrated fail-over and NuttX compatibility useful. The bundled I2C splitter and 16 GB storage simplify sensor expansion and data logging. Pilots who only need a basic single-controller board without backup circuitry or an expansion module should look at simpler alternatives.

ARM Cortex-M4 with NuttX RTOS and backup fail-over

The defining specification is the 32-bit ARM Cortex-M4 processor paired with the NuttX real-time operating system and automatic controller fail-over. This combination determines whether the kit meets the reliability and software requirements of a given autonomous vehicle project.
