EndoFrame Climbing Harness

The Petzl Sama is a sports protective gear harness built for rock climbing. Its EndoFrame construction uses thin EVA padding and sewn-in webbing to distribute load across a slim waist. Aluminium buckles and a nylon, polyester, polyurethane and high-modulus polyethylene shell keep the structure light while minimising pressure points during long hangs on a project.

Four Gear Loops and Chalk Bag Hanger

Four moulded gear loops carry quickdraws, cams or a full rack without shifting. The integrated chalk bag hanger lets you clip a bag directly to the harness instead of using a separate waist belt. These features reduce the extra hardware you need on your waist so the fit stays clean when you are working sequences.

Check Waist Size and Leg Loop Fit

The harness is supplied in a single Small size with fixed leg loops. Measure your waist against the manufacturer's Small range before ordering because the leg loops cannot be adjusted independently. If you need a different waist size or adjustable leg loops for layering, this model will not suit you.

Questions about this item

Will the EVA padding or the aluminum buckles on this harness need replacement after repeated falls?

The EVA padding and aluminum buckles are built into the EndoFrame construction and are not user-serviceable; inspect them before each use and retire the harness if you find cuts, corrosion or deformation.

What is the first limit reached when hanging in the Petzl Sama for long periods on a project?

The slim waist with thin EVA padding creates pressure points over time, so comfort becomes the limiting factor before the nylon, polyester and high-modulus polyethylene webbing reaches its structural limit.

How much heat builds up around the waist when wearing this gray Small harness all day in summer?

The nylon, polyester and polyurethane materials trap body heat against the EVA padding, so expect a warm feel during extended sessions in hot conditions.
