PFERD 67196 Z SGP CURVE STEELOX Flap Disc

This PFERD 67196 flap disc uses zirconia alumina abrasive on a fiberglass backing plate. It measures 5 inches in diameter with a 7/8 inch unthreaded arbor hole. The disc is rated for a maximum operating speed of 12,200 RPM and features a coarse 40 grit for aggressive material removal.

Who This Suits and Who Should Look Elsewhere

This disc suits metalworkers grinding and finishing steel and stainless steel on angle grinders. The curved radial design helps with contoured surfaces and edge work. Buyers needing finer surface finishes or working on non-ferrous metals like aluminum should look at different grits or abrasive types.

Key Specification: 40 Grit Zirconia Alumina

The 40 grit zirconia alumina coating determines the cut rate and surface finish. This coarse grade removes stock quickly on steel and stainless steel. Confirm your grinder reaches 12,200 RPM maximum speed and accepts a 7/8 inch unthreaded arbor before fitting this disc.

Questions about this item

Will the 7/8 in unthreaded hole fit the spindle on my existing 5 in angle grinder?

The 7/8 in unthreaded hole matches the standard arbor on most 5 in angle grinders, so it mounts directly without an adapter.

How can I confirm the Z SGP CURVE STEELOX disc is running true after I mount it?

Start the grinder at low speed and watch for wobble; a properly seated disc runs smoothly up to the 12,200 RPM limit with no vibration.

Does the box include a backing pad or mounting nut, or do I need to buy them separately?

The flap disc has a built-in fiberglass backing plate, so no separate backing pad or nut is required for installation.
