Professional stage lamp for touring fixtures

The MSD Platinum 14R Broadway Lamp (261503) is a short-arc discharge lamp built for professional moving-head and hybrid fixtures used in touring and entertainment production. It fits Elation Platinum HFX, Proteus Beam V14B IP, Sniper Pro, PRG Icon Beam and Terbly G14B-IP or G9 series units. The lamp produces 12350 lumens at 7800K with a compact 1.0 mm arc for sharp projection.

Sustained output and thermal stability

Rated for 2000 hours to 50% failures, the lamp maintains consistent lumen output across extended show runs. Universal operating position (Any/U) and dimmable performance allow flexible programming without colour shift or flicker under continuous load. The 280W power draw is stable, supporting reliable cue-to-cue operation night after night.

Direct replacement with universal mounting

Installation is a direct swap in the listed fixtures; the lamp seats in the existing housing with no adapter required. Universal position rating means it can be mounted in any orientation. The main risk is handling the quartz envelope with bare fingers — oil residue causes hot spots and premature failure — so clean gloves are essential during fitting.

Questions about this item

How much heat and power does the 280W MSD Platinum 14R lamp produce when running continuously in a moving head fixture?

The lamp draws 280W and its short-arc design concentrates heat at the 1.0 mm arc gap; fixtures use forced-air cooling to manage thermal load during extended shows.

Which fixture models must I already own for this 261503 replacement lamp to work?

Compatible fixtures include Elation Platinum HFX, Proteus Beam V14B IP, Sniper Pro, PRG Icon Beam, and Terbly G14B-IP, G9 Hybrid and G9B series.

Will the 7800K output and 12350 lm brightness match the original lamps in my older Elation or PRG moving heads?

Yes — the lamp replicates the original 7800K colour temperature and 12350 lumen output, so colour balance and intensity remain consistent across mixed-age fixtures.
