Philips BR30 LED for recessed and track use

The Philips 457044 is a 9.0W BR30 LED bulb with an E26 medium base, built for indoor recessed cans and track fixtures. It produces 650 lumens of soft white light at 2700K and dims smoothly down to a warm 2200K glow. Rated for 25,000 hours, it replaces a 65W incandescent while carrying an Energy Star rating.

Steady output through dimming cycles

At full power the lamp delivers a consistent 650 Lm at 2700K across its 25,000-hour rated life. The dimming range lets colour temperature slide from 2700K to 2200K without flicker, so recessed cans and track heads keep even illumination whether the scene is bright or subdued. Operating on 120V, the frosted finish softens glare in ceiling-mounted positions.

Replaces 65W incandescent BR30 lamps

Swapping a 65W incandescent BR30 for this 9W LED cuts energy use while matching the same lumen output and warm dimming behaviour. The jump is worth it when fixtures run for long daily hours or when dimming to a candle-like 2200K is desired. Not suited for buyers who need higher lumen packages, non-dimmable operation, or bulbs compliant with California regulations.

Questions about this item

Does the 9.0 W BR30 produce noticeable heat or noise when left on all day?

At 9.0 W the bulb runs much cooler than a 65 W incandescent equivalent and has no moving parts, so it stays silent and only warm to the touch during continuous use.

What fixture or wiring must I already have for the E26 base to work?

You need a standard 120 V medium-base (E26) socket — found in most household recessed cans and track heads — and a dimmer rated for LED loads if you want the 2700-2200 K dimming range.

Will this 5.2 in BR30 fit the older 6-inch recessed cans I already own?

The 5.2 in overall length and BR30 diameter are designed for standard 6-inch cans, so it seats properly in existing housings without protruding.
