Outdoor Cable Extension for Hue Systems

This Philips Hue extension cable adds 196.90 inches of reach between the power supply and the first light point or between individual light points. The black synthetic construction carries an IP67 rating for full weatherproof performance in garden and patio settings. Total system length per power supply must not exceed 35 meters.

Suitable For Permanent Outdoor Installations

Homeowners extending low-voltage Hue lighting along paths, fences or decking will find the IP67 protection and Class III safe extra-low voltage appropriate for permanent outdoor use. The cable is not designed for indoor-only runs, high-voltage circuits or installations that would push the total system length beyond the 35-metre limit per power supply.

Critical Specification Is The 35-Metre System Limit

Every power supply supports a maximum combined cable and light-point run of 35 meters, so the 196.90-inch extension must be counted within that budget. Exceeding the limit will cause voltage drop and unreliable operation, making the total length the single figure that decides whether this cable fits the project.

Questions about this item

How far can I run the 1742430VN extension cable before hitting the 35-meter system limit per power supply?

The 1742430VN adds 196.90 inches (about 5 meters) per cable. You can connect multiple extensions as long as the total cable run from the power supply to the last light point does not exceed 35 meters.

Will the IP67-rated 1742430VN cable overheat or draw extra power when left running all day in a garden installation?

The extension is a passive synthetic cable with no active electronics, so it generates no heat and consumes no power itself. Its IP67 rating ensures it stays dust-tight and waterproof during continuous outdoor use.

What existing Philips Hue outdoor components must I already own for the 1742430VN to function?

You need a compatible Philips Hue outdoor power supply and at least one Hue outdoor light point. The 1742430VN only extends the distance between them; it cannot operate as a standalone light or power source.
