Philips Hue Play 2-Pack Smart LED Bars

The Philips Hue Play 2-Pack contains two smart LED bars that each deliver 500 lumens of white and color light. They connect via Bluetooth and work with Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant and Apple HomeKit. A Philips Hue Bridge is required for full ecosystem control. The bars include mounting clips and double-sided tape for flexible placement behind monitors or TVs. Energy consumption is rated A+ with a ±10-year lifespan.

Ideal for Ambient Lighting Enthusiasts

These bars suit users who want bias lighting for screens or accent lighting that syncs with music and entertainment through the Hue app and Spotify integration. They also fit homes already invested in the Philips Hue ecosystem with a Bridge installed. Buyers who need high-output task lighting or outdoor-rated fixtures should look elsewhere. The product does not support installations that require a direct mains connection without the supplied power adapter.

Simple Placement with Bridge Dependency

Setup is straightforward: attach the bars with the included clips or tape, connect the power adapter and pair via Bluetooth in the Hue app. Adding the Hue Bridge unlocks remote access, routines and multi-room synchronisation. The main friction point is the Bridge requirement; without it, features such as away-from-home control and entertainment sync are unavailable. Ensure a free power outlet is near the intended mounting location.
