Purpose and fit

The Philips SHP25/37 is a wired, open-back studio headphone built for podcasting, monitoring and recording sessions. Its circumoral ear cups and lightweight headband suit users who wear headphones for long stretches and value a natural, spacious soundstage.

Open-back limits

The open-back design lets air move through the 40-millimeter drivers for detailed audio, but it also leaks sound in both directions. In noisy rooms or shared spaces you will hear the environment and the environment will hear your playback, so isolation is minimal.

Cable reach and plug options

A fixed 2-metre cable gives freedom of movement around a desk or console, and the included snap-on 6.3-millimetre adapter plugs straight into professional interfaces. The 3.5-millimetre native jack covers consumer gear, but the cable is not detachable, so a damaged lead means replacing the whole unit.
