Shares four USB 3.0 peripherals between two computers with a manual button switch
This USB 3.0 KVM switch lets two PCs or Macs share up to four peripherals such as a keyboard, mouse, printer, scanner or USB drive. A single button on the unit toggles which computer has active access to the connected devices. No driver installation is required on Windows 10, 8.1, 7, Vista, XP, Mac OS X, Linux or Chrome OS. The switch draws power from the USB bus for typical low-power devices.
Only one computer controls the four downstream ports at any moment; the other system is disconnected until the button is pressed again. Bus power alone cannot sustain high-draw peripherals such as external hard drives or digital video cameras. A standard 5 V DC adapter must be connected to the micro-USB power port when those devices are used. Any charger supplying more than 5 V is not permitted and may damage the switch.
Confirm both computers have available USB Type-A ports for the two included A-to-A cables. Check whether your peripherals exceed bus-power limits; if they do, obtain a 5 V adapter separately as none is supplied. The switch does not support video signals, so a separate monitor arrangement is required for each computer.

The switch provides 4 USB 3.0 downstream ports shared between 2 upstream computers, so one unit covers the full 2-to-4 configuration described.
Each port runs at USB 3.0 SuperSpeed up to 5 Gbps, giving fast transfers for drives, printers or scanners when the host controller also supports 3.0.
It uses USB 3.0 Type-A connections, limiting each port to 5 Gbps and standard bus power unless the optional 5 V DC jack is used for high-draw devices.
