Pilot FriXion Point 0.5 mm Erasable Gel Pen

This pen uses thermo-sensitive gel ink that disappears completely when erased by friction. A needlepoint tip delivers extra-fine, clean lines for precise writing. The ink writes smoothly and allows repeated erasing and rewriting without damaging paper. It holds a Good Housekeeping Seal for verified performance.

Suited for students and professionals who need

The .5 mm needlepoint is ideal for detailed work such as planners, crosswords or fine handwriting. Buyers who want a permanent record or ink that will not fade under heat should choose a standard ballpoint or rollerball instead.

Simple to use with no setup required

Click or uncap the pen and write; the built-in eraser removes marks cleanly with light friction. Excessive heat can make ink invisible, so avoid leaving pages in hot cars or laminating them. Store horizontally to keep ink flowing evenly.

Questions about this item

Does the 0.5 mm needlepoint tip need any special paper to write smoothly?

The pen writes smoothly on standard office paper; no special stock is required for the 0.5 mm tip to perform as designed.

Will the thermo-sensitive ink disappear if the page is left in a hot car?

Yes, heat from a hot car can make the ink turn invisible; cooling the page in a freezer for a short time usually restores the writing.

How can I check that the FriXion erasing action is working correctly after I start using the pen?

Write a test line, rub the built-in eraser over it, and the ink should vanish cleanly without tearing the paper or leaving crumbs.
