Pilot Retractable Roller Ball Pen Extra-Fine 0.5 mm

The Pilot PIL13447 is a retractable roller ball pen sold as a single dozen. It uses a unique liquid-ink formula and Patented Precision Point Technology to deliver smooth, skip-free strokes. A rubber grip with traction pockets provides comfortable control. The navy barrel matches the blue ink colour.

Who benefits and who should consider alternatives

This pack suits offices, students and professionals who want a reliable daily writer with a precise extra-fine line. The retractable tip makes it safe for pockets and travel. Buyers who need a different ink colour, a broader tip size or a single pen rather than a twelve-count box should look at other options.

The specification that decides fit

The extra-fine 0.5 mm point determines whether this pen matches the handwriting detail or form-filling precision you require. If your work demands a finer or bolder line width, this model will not meet that need.

Questions about this item

Does the PIL13447 require a specific refill type to keep writing after the original ink runs out?

Yes, the pen is refillable with compatible Pilot roller-ball refills that match the extra-fine .5 mm tip size.

Can I mix these pens with older Pilot roller-ball models that use a different tip size?

The PIL13447 uses an extra-fine .5 mm point, so line width will differ from broader-tip models, but the retractable mechanism and liquid-ink formula work the same way.

How can I confirm the Precision Point Technology is performing as intended right after opening the box?

Write a few lines on standard paper; the stroke should be smooth and skip-free from the first word, with a consistently thin .5 mm line and no ink pooling.
