Everyday writing tool

The Pilot FriXion Clicker is a retractable gel pen with a 0.5 mm tip sold in a pack of twelve. Its thermo-sensitive ink disappears when heated by the friction of the integrated eraser, allowing mistakes to be corrected cleanly. The white barrel features a geometric Design Collection wrap. It suits students, office workers and anyone who prefers erasable ink for notes or drafts.

Consistent erasable performance

The gel ink flows smoothly during extended writing sessions and maintains its erasable properties throughout the life of the refill. Heat generated by the clip-mounted eraser removes marks without tearing or wearing the paper surface. Because the formula reacts to temperature, ink may reappear in very cold conditions or fade if pages are left in direct heat, so archival storage requires a stable environment.

Limits of thermo-sensitive ink

The erasable formula is not suitable for legal documents, cheques or any record that must remain permanent, as friction or ambient heat can remove the writing. Ink lines are 0.5 mm wide and only available in black from this pack. Users who need indelible marks, broader stroke widths or multiple colours will need a different pen type.

Questions about this item

Does the .5 mm gel ink smudge or bleed after hours of continuous writing?

The thermo-sensitive gel ink writes smoothly and dries quickly, so it resists smudging during long sessions.

Do I need a special eraser or refill to use the retractable click mechanism?

The built-in eraser on the clip handles all erasing, and the pen uses standard Pilot FriXion refills when the ink runs out.

Will the erasable ink stay legible on documents stored with older fountain-pen notes?

Yes, the ink remains stable under normal storage conditions and only disappears when friction heat is applied.
