One-terabyte backup drive for iPhone and computer

The PIODATA iXflash provides 1 TB of storage in a USB 3.2 Gen 1 stick with both Type A and Type C connectors. It is built for iPhone and iPad users who need to move photos, videos and files to a computer without using internal memory. Apple MFi certification guarantees compatibility with Lightning devices through the included adapter.

Passive thermals and bus-powered operation

The drive has no moving parts and draws power directly from the host port, so it runs silently and adds negligible heat to a laptop or phone. Typical transfer activity stays within the USB 3.2 Gen 1 power envelope, leaving the host device’s thermal profile unchanged during backups.

MFi-certified Lightning compatibility

The decisive specification is Apple MFi certification with a supplied USB-C to Lightning adapter, which lets the drive connect directly to iPhones and iPads for app-managed backup and recording. Without that certification the drive cannot perform its primary function on Apple mobile devices.

Questions about this item

How do I plug the iXflash 1 TB into an iPhone and what is the step people miss?

Use the included USB-C to Lightning adapter on the Type C end; the step people miss is granting the iXflash app permission to access photos before the first backup starts.

What part of the iXflash 1 TB will wear out first and need replacement?

The NAND flash memory cells have a finite write-cycle limit; after many terabytes written the drive will eventually fail and the whole stick must be replaced.

What speed ceiling appears first when I copy large video files continuously to the iXflash 1 TB?

The USB 3.2 Gen 1 interface caps sustained transfers at 5 Gbps, so that bus limit is reached before the internal flash can saturate.
