Pioneer DMH-C5500NEX 8.0" Digital Media Receiver with Backup Camera

Modular 8.0" WXGA Display

The Pioneer DMH-C5500NEX is a digital media receiver built around an 8.0" WXGA capacitive touchscreen mounted on a modular chassis. It targets drivers who want smartphone integration and expanded audio sources in a single-din opening. Wired CarPlay and Android Auto bring familiar apps to the dash, while HD Radio and satellite radio support widen the listening options. Alexa voice control adds hands-free operation for compatible services.

Wiring and Dash Checks

Verify that your vehicle can accommodate the modular chassis layout and that a wired USB connection is available for CarPlay and Android Auto operation. The included backup camera requires a reverse-light trigger and a clear routing path to the display unit. Confirm that the existing speaker wiring can handle the built-in 50 W x 4 MOSFET amplifier without additional adapters. An optional CD-MC20 microphone is needed if you plan to use the Auto EQ calibration feature.

System Integration

The receiver fills a single-din slot while the display floats above the dash, freeing the lower cavity for HVAC controls or storage. Built-in Bluetooth supports dual-phone pairing for calls and audio streaming without extra modules. iDatalink Maestro compatibility retains factory features such as steering-wheel controls and vehicle data displays. The unit plays MP3, WMA, WAV, AAC and FLAC files, including Hi-Res WAV and FLAC, plus video formats such as MP4, MKV and MOV from USB sources.
