Product type and audience

The Pioneer DMH-WT3800NEX is a 9-inch digital multimedia receiver with a floating capacitive HD touchscreen. It fits a single-DIN dash opening while delivering a large display for Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Pioneer WebLink. Built-in Bluetooth and Wi-Fi handle calls, streaming and hotspot duties. The chassis does not play optical discs.

Who this suits and who should look elsewhere

Drivers who want wireless smartphone integration, split-screen views and high-resolution audio playback from USB sources will find the features they need. Buyers who require CD, DVD or Blu-ray playback must choose a different receiver because this unit has no disc mechanism. Installers needing a double-DIN chassis should also consider other models.

Deciding specification

The single-DIN chassis with a 9-inch floating touchscreen is the specification that determines fitment. It allows the large display to sit in a standard single-DIN opening, so verify your dash cut-out matches that requirement before purchase.

Questions about this item

How does the 9-inch floating capacitive HD touchscreen look and work once installed in the dashboard?

The 9-inch display floats above a single-DIN chassis, giving a large HD capacitive touchscreen that supports split-screen mode and light or dark themes for better visibility in sunlight.

What smartphone integration standards does the receiver use and what functions do they enable?

It supports wired and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus built-in WebLink, Amazon Alexa via the Pioneer Vozsis app, and direct Pandora and Spotify access through those platforms.

What dash opening and physical space does the chassis need to fit?

The receiver chassis fits a standard single-DIN dash opening while the 9-inch floating screen extends above it, so no double-DIN cutout is required.
