1-DIN receiver with Alexa integration

The Pioneer MVH-S522BS is a single-DIN digital media receiver built for drivers who want smartphone connectivity and voice control. It works with both iPhone and Android devices and adds Alexa compatibility through the Pioneer Smart Sync App for hands-free operation.

Bluetooth dual phone connection and 13-band EQ

Built-in Bluetooth supports simultaneous pairing of two phones for calls and audio streaming. A 13-band graphic equaliser provides detailed tone shaping, expandable to 31 bands via the Smart Sync App, while a 24-bit DAC handles high-resolution FLAC and WAV files over USB.

Suits single-DIN dash openings

This unit fits standard single-DIN slots and includes a detachable faceplate for security. Steering wheel control readiness requires a separate adapter. Buyers needing a double-DIN form factor or a built-in navigation system should look at alternative models.

Questions about this item

Will the detachable faceplate or the 24-bit DAC need periodic replacement?

The detachable faceplate is a mechanical security feature and the 24-bit DAC is a fixed circuit component; neither is listed as a serviceable or replaceable part.

What limit appears first during continuous high-volume playback from the 50W x 4 MOSFET amplifier?

Thermal protection in the built-in amplifier will engage before clipping becomes audible, muting output until the chassis cools.

How much heat and fan noise does the 13-band EQ and 6-channel preout section add during all-day operation?

The unit has no internal fan; heat from the MOSFET amp and preout drivers is dissipated passively through the chassis, so noise stays at zero.
