Water-resistant 6.5" marine coaxial pair handles 30W RMS with 91 dB sensitivity and 160W peak power
The Pioneer TS-MR1640 is a 6.5" coaxial 2-way speaker set built for marine and outdoor audio systems. Each unit uses a water-resistant IMPP cone with a Nomex damper and a 27mm PEI dome tweeter. Sold as a pair, they suit boat owners who need durable sound reproduction on open water.
Continuous power handling is rated at 30W RMS with a peak limit of 160W, so the speakers handle moderate amplifier output without strain. Sensitivity of 91 dB at 1W/1m means they play loudly on modest power, but sustained high-volume passages will reach thermal limits at the RMS figure. The 30 Hz to 30 kHz range covers full-range music, though deep sub-bass requires a separate subwoofer.
A 5" cut-out diameter and 2-1/4" mounting depth define the space needed behind each panel, limiting use to locations with sufficient clearance. The 4-Ohm nominal impedance matches most marine head units and amplifiers, while the classic white grille fits factory aesthetics. Buyers needing larger cut-outs, different impedance or flush-mount hardware will need another solution.

The speakers present a 4-Ohm load and 91 dB sensitivity, so any marine amp rated for 4 Ohms at or near 30 W RMS per channel will drive them cleanly.
Play a full-range test track; you should hear clear highs up to 30 kHz from the 27 mm PEI dome and solid bass down to 30 Hz from the water-resistant IMPP cone without distortion at 30 W RMS.
Grilles are included; you will need to provide 5-inch cut-out holes, 2-1/4-inch mounting depth clearance, speaker wire and any connector plugs for your boat's wiring harness.
